Bliss Edwards is the Executive Vice President and Head of Canada at SmartStop Self Storage, where she leads the company’s strategic acquisition and development efforts across the Canadian market. Since joining SmartStop in 2019 as Managing Director – Canada, Bliss has played a pivotal role in expanding the company’s footprint by overseeing property sourcing, deal negotiation, and execution of new development opportunities. Under her leadership, the net rentable square-foot pipeline has grown more than fourfold, helping position SmartStop as a top-ten storage operator in North America and a leading operator in Canada’s Greater Toronto Area.
Before her tenure at SmartStop, Bliss served as Senior Director of Development at Dymon Storage, where she deepened her expertise in self-storage growth and operational strategy. Prior to that, she spent a decade in land-use planning and approvals with both public and private organizations, building a strong foundation in planning, regulatory environments, and project execution. Bliss holds an Honours Bachelor of Environmental Studies in Planning from the University of Waterloo and is a Registered Professional Planner.
