Tom Sherlock is the Co-Founder of Talonvest Capital, Inc., is responsible for leading the strategic direction, growth, and branding of the firm while focusing on leveraging Talonvest’s institutional knowledge and capital market expertise on behalf of clients. He has been actively involved in commercial real estate finance since 1985.
Previously, Tom was the Managing Partner of a national investment management firm where he led the acquisitions team making JV equity investments in value-add commercial real estate opportunities on behalf of the company’s institutional investors. Additionally, he has been a top-producing Senior Loan Officer at a multi-national bank and Managing Director of the brokerage-advisory business at a previous firm. During his career, Tom has been involved in capitalizing over $15 billion of commercial real estate transactions.
In addition to his professional achievements, Tom serves as an adjunct professor at UC Irvine’s Paul Merage School of Business, where he teaches the capstone real estate class for MBA students. He is also a member of the ULI Capital Markets Forum and serves on the Executive Committee at the UCI Center for Real Estate. Previously, Tom served on NAIOP’s National Board of Directors (2012-2015) and was the former President of the NAIOP SoCal chapter, where he founded the organization’s award-winning Young Professionals Group (YPG) educational program. Tom holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.
