Craig Tavares

Craig Tavares is President & COO of BUZZ High Performance Computing, where he is building Canada’s sovereign AI cloud and next-generation, high-density data centres, expanding trusted, Canadian-based GPU capacity to support advanced AI training and inference workloads. With more than 20 years of leadership across digital infrastructure and energy, he is known for scaling complex platforms and executing multi-stakeholder programs that bring secure compute, power, network, and facilities together into production-grade AI infrastructure. He has held senior leadership roles at Cogeco, Aptum (DigitalBridge), and Apple, building and scaling global cloud, data center, and hybrid infrastructure businesses. Earlier in his career, he co-founded Kingston Co-gen, leading M&A and the development of 300MW of generation while pioneering one of North America’s early HPC-enabled power-plant data centers. Recognized as an innovator and growth driver at the intersection of telecom, cloud, energy, and AI, Tavares brings technical depth and strategic vision to advancing sovereign AI infrastructure across Canada.
