Peter is a seasoned real estate executive with over 25 years of leadership experience and strategic planning. He served as the Global Head of Real Estate at Canada Pension Plan Investments (CPP) until 2024 where he led a 75-person team spanning 7 countries, managing over $50B in private and public real estate across multiple sectors in more than 20 countries. His responsibilities included chairing the Real Estate Investment Committee and serving as a member of the Real Assets Investment Committee and CPP’s Legal and Risk Committee.
Peter has significant board experience, including serving as the Global Chair of the Urban Land Institute, a 45,000-member global real estate organization, and as a Board member of ALLOS, a Brazilian public company. He has been a member of investment, governance, nomination, and compensation committees and has been granted the ICD.D designation by the Institute of Corporate Directors.
Before joining CPP in 2007, Peter worked with several leading real estate companies, including Canderel, Brookfield and TrizecHahn. At various stages of his career, he has been based in Canada, the US, Europe, and Asia. Peter holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University and an MBA from the Ivey School of Business.
