Rob Sistek is Executive Managing Director of Investments and serves as a member of BKM Capital Partners’ Investment Committee. Sistek is responsible for the oversight of BKM’s investment management program, including overall strategic planning, portfolio management, asset management, investor relations, and marketing to ensure the investment strategies are executed and returns achieved for all stakeholders. Sistek focuses on developing and implementing strategies to drive growth and value and general oversight of the funds’ performance.
Sistek brings more than 20 years of experience across all phases of real estate investment management including the portfolio management, acquisit0ions, capital markets, accounting, finance, treasury, and investor relations for a wide range of [totaling over XX SF/MM/etc]. Sistek most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer at Westcore Properties, where he was responsible for the financial performance of Westcore’s 10+ million square foot investment portfolio of industrial and office properties. Sistek led the evaluation, analysis, and implementation of the assets’ strategic business plans and the coordination of cross-functional resources to maximize profitability and achieve value creation targets.
Before Westcore Properties, Sistek held leadership positions in various industrial-focused real estate investment companies. Sistek was the Chief Financial Officer & Executive Vice President of Investments for Innovative Industrial Properties, where he created and launched the company’s real estate investment strategy and led the acquisitions, accounting, finance, treasury, and investor relations functions. Sistek led the firm through a successful IPO and listing on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: IIPR).
Previously, Sistek held the position of Senior Vice President, Investments for Biomed Realty Trust, managing acquisitions, dispositions and joint ventures, leading the financial underwriting of investment opportunities and developing the firm’s structured finance program. Prior to his executive leadership roles, he held various senior level positions focused on real estate finance and capital markets at The Carlyle Group, DCT Industrial Trust, and Prologis, solidifying Sistek’s depth of capital markets expertise.
Sistek holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Northern Colorado and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. Sistek has guest lectured for the University of San Diego’s Master’s in Real Estate and San Diego State University’s MBA graduate Program. He is a member of the AICPA National Real Estate Committee and Expert Network Council Member.
