Marco Torres is a seasoned healthcare operations executive with more than a decade of progressive leadership experience across safety-net hospitals, physician networks, managed care organizations, and federally qualified health centers in Southern California, as well as global pharmaceutical sales and marketing. He is recognized for his ability to align strategic objectives with operational execution to drive quality, access, financial performance, and patient experience—particularly within complex, resource-constrained environments.
Marco Torres currently serves as Chief Operating Officer for one of the nation’s largest public Level I Trauma Center and home to a regional burn center, comprehensive inpatient services, and a large integrated multi-specialty outpatient network. The organization employs approximately 13,000 staff and is academically aligned with the USC Keck School of Medicine, supporting its mission of clinical excellence, education, research, and equitable care delivery.
Previously, Marco held senior leadership roles including Associate Hospital Administrator at Pipeline Health, Chief Operations Officer at Universal Community Health Center, and Regional Director of Clinic Operations at Adventist Health Physicians Network. He started his operations career at HealthCare Partners (now Optum) and AltaMed, where he consistently improved margins, access, surgical volumes, quality metrics, and patient satisfaction through disciplined performance improvement and collaborative leadership. Marco also served in leadership positions with some of the world’s largest pharmaceutical organizations and California’s largest Health Plans.
Marco holds a Master of Health Administration from the University of Southern California and is deeply committed to values-based leadership grounded in integrity, accountability, empathy, and service to underserved communities.
Outside of his professional role, Marco values maintaining a healthy work-life balance. He enjoys working out, golfing, white-water rafting, hands-on do-it-yourself home projects, cooking, reading and activities that reflect his belief in balance, resilience, and lifelong personal growth.
