Scott joined Fannie Mae in 2008 and currently serves as Senior Director responsible for the strategic management and operations of the Multifamily Real Estate Owned (REO) group. Previous positions held include Director, Special Asset Management, and Director, Special Credits. Reporting to the Vice President of Multifamily Loss Mitigation, he is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to maximize property operations and sale proceeds.
Scott has over 35 years in the commercial real estate industry, primarily in Non-Performing Asset Management and other Special Servicing areas. He was instrumental in creating and managing REO and Loan Workout groups for several financial institutions and has broad exposure across all commercial real estate asset classes.
Prior to joining Fannie Mae, Scott served as Vice President/Asset Management for Fortress Investment Group responsible for managing complex real estate investments, and was the Director of CMBS and Agency Asset Management for Prudential Asset Resources, Inc.
Additional employment included Southern California Regional Manager for Equitable Real Estate, a subsidiary of Equitable Insurance, as well as various asset management positions for companies such as AMRESCO and Old Stone Bank
Scott holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Washington.
A longtime member of the Mortgage Bankers Association and CREFC, Scott has held numerous committee positions within these organizations, and is a frequent speaker at national conferences, focusing on the management of non-performing loans and REO
