Rahul V. Shah is the Co-Founder and Managing Principal of Sherpa Capital Group, LLC, a boutique private equity real estate firm specializing in bridge debt and equity investments secured by real estate. Since its founding in 2010, Sherpa has built a strong reputation for entrepreneurial lending solutions, diverse financing strategies, and a commitment to service, funding over 350 transactions using proprietary capital, with all credit decisions and servicing handled in-house.
Rahul brings deep expertise in deal structuring, investment financing, and strategic lending, with a proven track record in multifamily real estate and private capital markets. Before co-founding Sherpa, he successfully established a mortgage banking company, originating more than $500 million in residential and commercial loans. His career also includes leadership roles in business development and strategic alliances, notably serving as a Manager at Encyclopedia Britannica, where he led key internet initiatives. Earlier in his career, he was a Senior Consultant at Arthur Andersen’s Transaction Advisory Group, conducting due diligence on corporate finance transactions involving financial institutions, private equity firms, and mid-sized corporations—spanning over 50 transactions, with deal sizes ranging from $50 million to $1 billion.
Rahul is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy with a Concentration in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
