A real estate investor, developer, financier and entrepreneur, Mr. Rutledge is the Founder, Chairman, President and CEO of Oxford Capital Group, LLC, an international real estate private equity, asset management, property management and development firm headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Rutledge is also the Founder of the Godfrey, LondonHouse, Julian, IO and ALK hospitality brands. Oxford’s investment activities have concentrated on complicated, large-scale single asset and portfolio acquisitions, developments and redevelopments.
Oxford has participated in approximately $4B+ of real estate projects, with a primary focus on hospitality (16,000+ hotel rooms), senior housing (approximately 3,000+ units) and hospitality anchored mixed use projects including multifamily (2,000+ units). Other operationally intensive forms of lifestyle real estate include health, fitness, spa, athletic and sports/entertainment destination clubs, rooftop/nightlife venues and other destination food & beverage outlets. Oxford Hotels and Resorts, LLC is its wholly owned hotel operating affiliate. Oxford Living, LLC is its senior housing investment and management platform. Oxford Residential, LLC is its multi-family residential development affiliate.
Oxford is Chicagoland’s largest independent hotel investor, owner, manager and developer – having invested, developed, and/or managed 15 hotels in the market representing 4,062 rooms, 12 of which have been downtown and nearly all of which have been successfully harvested for substantial equity profits. Noted Chicago projects include The Langham, LondonHouse, The Godfrey, Hotel Julian, The Thompson and Le Meridien Essex and Essex on the Park-Michigan Avenue. Noted national projects include Godfrey Hollywood; Hotel Los Gatos-Los Gatos, CA; The Porter Hotel-Portland, OR; Godfrey Boston; Hotel Lexington-NYC; Metropolitan Hotel-NYC; and The National Conference Center-Northern Virginia. Oxford is active in many of the Top 25 US MSAs and select resort markets including: Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, Portland (Oregon and Maine), Minneapolis, Austin, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Tampa, Nashville, Washington D.C., Charleston, New Orleans and markets throughout Florida as well as having projects in Canada and overseas.
