Joanne Lucas has more than 15 years of experience as an asset manager for residential housing and has developed an expertise in the Active Adult sector during her tenure with Greystar. Ms. Lucas’ currently oversees a $1.25B portfolio of +4,400 apartment homes located in 11 states. She is a trusted partner with a demonstrated ability to find solutions for her internal and external clients.
With nearly 30 years of financial analysis and budgeting experience, Ms. Lucas also enjoyed a rewarding career in retail and commercial banking where she held various positions with Wells Fargo Bank, US Bank and Washington Mutual Bank.
Before joining Greystar, Ms. Lucas spent several years in the affordable housing sector with both Jamboree Housing and Highridge Costa Housing Partners where she focused on negotiating wind downs and exit strategies. Ms. Lucas also worked for HCP, Inc (now HealthPeak), a healthcare REIT, where she was responsible for a $2.8B senior housing portfolio of triple net leases.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Ms. Lucas is passionate about advancing the success of women in commercial real estate. She is an active member of CREW OC – serving as this year’s chapter President. Ms. Lucas also represents the investment group on Greystar’s DEI council – serving as a co-chair focused on people of color and working to ensure increased diversity of representation within the department.
Ms. Lucas is a proud UCI alumnus, having received an MBA from The Paul Merage School of Business and a Bachelors degree in Political Science.
