Gregory May is the Executive Vice President and West Region Market Leader for Newmark. In this position, Mr. May leads brokerage operations for all service lines across the region’s 13 offices. He also manages revenue growth, profitability, client relations, fiduciary governance, strategic planning, top industry recruitment and business development and has oversight of more than 300 commercial real estate brokers. Additionally, Mr. May provides counsel on national corporate initiatives and is instrumental in implementing and executing the firm’s strategy on a local level. He has successfully grown the Southwest region’s clientele base in the areas of capital markets, multifamily, occupier services, office tenant and landlord representation, retail and senior housing. As a consummate advisor and mentor focused on operational excellence, Mr. May is credited with expanding the Southern California professional brokerage personnel by 155% over five years to 235 high-caliber, talented producers. Under his leadership, Newmark advanced to rank second among commercial real estate brokerages in office and retail capital markets investment sales.

Prior to his transition from brokerage to management, Mr. May consistently ranked among Newmark’s top performing brokers nationally. His previous roles include Vice President at Transwestern, Leasing Director of the USAA western region and Vice President of CBRE’s Newport Beach office.

Over the course of Mr. May’s 25+ year career, he has advised numerous regional national firms as well as many of Orange County’s premier landlords and tenants. His professional achievements have won him several awards, and the Business Journal has named him one of the “Most Influential People in Los Angeles and Orange County.” Mr. May currently serves on the executive board of directors of NAIOP SoCal.
