Cliff Carnes brings over 15 years of experience in Capital Markets to Matthews Real Estate Investment Services™. As Executive Vice President of Capital Markets, Cliff is responsible for overseeing the Capital Markets Division, and debt and equity production. Through his leadership, Matthews™ is positioned as an expert in debt and equity financing, providing the highest quality of service for a smooth process from funding to acquisition. With extensive experience in structuring, negotiating, and closing sophisticated transactions, he has led a team to achieve over $5B in financings annually. Cliff has played an integral role in the growing Capital Markets Division at Matthews™.
Prior to joining Matthews™, Cliff served as the Chief Production Officer of Capital Markets at Walker & Dunlop where he oversaw all capital markets originators and transactions in their seven western offices. Before that, he served as President at Johnson Capital. During his time there, he successfully negotiated and completed the sale acquisition of Johnson Capital to Walker & Dunlop. Cliff retired from the U.S. Navy with the rank of Commander.
