Chris Cooper is a 35-year industry veteran and Principal – Managing Director of Avison Young’s Southern California Region and a former member of the firm’s Global Executive Committee. Prior to joining Avison Young, Chris served as Chief Executive Officer of the Charles Dunn Company, Senior Managing Director for Cushman & Wakefield, and Executive Vice President at Jones Lang LaSalle. He possesses a wide range of experience in corporate services, leasing, construction, acquisition, sales, development and finance, and has an impressive track record of closed real estate transactions valued in excess of $3.5 billion. Chris has led major projects, including build to suit transactions, master plans, and incentive negotiations for Microsoft Corporation, Oracle, Xerox Corporation, Skadden Arps, DreamWorks SKG, Latham & Watkins, Prudential Insurance Company, Mellon Bank, Pillsbury Winthrop, and Clear Channel Communications. Chris is currently the Oversight Executive for the Oracle North American Account and was previouslyresponsible for management of selected national and global strategic alliance clients, including Microsoft Corporation, Activision and Xerox Corporation. Chris, who has a law degree, began his professional career as a real estate lawyer representing both public and private sector clients for 11 years. He has acted as lead real estate counsel on numerous large transactions, including the development, leasing, acquisition, and financing of office, industrial, hospital and other health care facilities.

As Principal – Managing Director of the Southern California Region of Avison Young, Chris is charged with the overall operations, growth and client care for the Region, as well as the recruitment of senior brokers and other professionals. He maintains an active role in transaction services, as well as national account management,and continues his focus on corporate occupier services.

Education

Chris holds a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from the University of California at Berkeley, and a Juris Doctorate from Loyola Marymount University.
