Meghan Wong, RPP, MCIP, PLE, Vice President of the Spanier Group, is an experienced land use planning and real estate professional specialized in large-scale mixed-use development, with a focus that includes the integration of transit. With over 15 years of experience, Meghan has led the implementation of a variety of planning and real estate projects across Ontario and Alberta vastly ranging in scale, value and size. Meghan’s first-hand experience working with a range of private and public sector entities positions her uniquely to navigate challenging, complex, and multi-stakeholder initiatives.
Most recently, Meghan led the development team at Metrolinx focused on transit-oriented development projects and played an integral role in developing a program to facilitate public-private real estate development partnerships. She has extensive experience managing complex large-scale projects and commercial deals with significant technical considerations. Most notably, she led all new GO station and light rail transit (LRT) development projects on behalf of Metrolinx, including the new planned Woodbine GO Station, Park Lawn GO Station and Innisfil GO Station. She also led the property acquisition team at Metrolinx for Eglinton Crosstown during the design and construction phase. Prior to joining Metrolinx, Meghan worked for WSP Group (formerly MMM Group) as a consultant leading the planning approvals for private sector mixed-use and residential developments. She has a wide variety of experience in policy, conceptual design, public engagement and government relations.
Meghan has been actively involved with the Urban Land Institute (ULI) since 2017 and serves on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity Greater Toronto Area and as Chair of their Land, Build, Construction and Finance Committee.
