Over his three decades with U-Haul Company, Sam Shoen has managed the company’s web, digital and point-of-sale evolution. He has touched nearly every area of the U-Haul operation in roles as WebTeam Manager, Risk Management Analyst, Executive Vice President, Chief of Staff, and President of Repwest Insurance.
Sam has served on the Board of Directors of U-Haul Holding Company (NYSE: UHAL; UHAL.B) since 2015 and as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors since 2018. Sam currently leads U-Box, the Company’s fastest growing business division.
As a family owned and operated company, Sam has continued to build on the legacy created by his grandparents when they founded U-Haul in 1945.
Today, U-Haul is the No. 1 choice of do-it-yourself movers with a network of more than 24,000 locations across all 50 states and 10 Canadian provinces, a fleet of 193,900 trucks, 138,200 trailers and 40,300 towing devices and 92 million square feet of self-storage space at owned and managed facilities.
Sam has also served as a Director at U-Haul International, Amerco Real Estate, Repwest Insurance and Oxford Life Insurance Company since 2004, 2010, 2011 and 2011, respectively.
Sam is a graduate of the Barrett Honors College at Arizona State University with a degree in management.
