Luis Calzado

Luis Calzado is a multilingual and multidisciplinary specialist in renewable energy and sustainable development, with more than twenty years of international experience in the energy sector. He is widely recognized for his expertise in the promotion and development of sustainable energy projects, energy storage, the integration of cleaner generation sources, energy efficiency, and the full electrification of end uses; key levers for achieving global development and climate-action objectives. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with senior executives of electric utilities, government institutions, financing agencies, and non-profit organizations to implement sustainable energy projects around the world. His international work has led him to lead and support initiatives in Africa, South and Central America, the Pacific Islands, and Southeast Asia. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from Queen’s University, as well as a graduate diploma in International Management and Commerce from the University of Montreal.
