Danielle Engelman is Deputy General Counsel and Managing Director at DW Partners, LP, an alternative asset manager that invests its $2B+ AUM primarily in bonds and loans collateralized by real estate. In this role, Ms. Engelman advises on all legal matters for the company with a specific focus on investment-side transactions. She works closely with the investment desk to advise on deal structuring, transaction documentation, and risk management. In addition to her work at DW Partners, Ms. Engelman is a professor at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she teaches Contract Drafting.
Prior to joining DW Partners, Ms. Engelman was an associate in the real estate department at leading international law firm Proskauer Rose LLP, where she represented clients in a wide variety of real estate transactions, including acquisitions and sales, financing, leasing and joint ventures. Prior to joining Proskauer, she served as a law clerk for the Hon. Eric L. Clay on the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. She lives in New York City with her husband and two young children and is passionate about giving back to the community, including as Vice Chair of the Board of Managers of the West Side YMCA.
