Alex Caruso is a real estate transactional attorney and a member of both the firm’s Retail and Commercial Development Group and Land Use, Environmental and Energy department. He handles a wide variety of real estate transactions, including the purchase, disposition and financing of retail projects, hotels and undeveloped land, as well as retail and office leasing.
As a member of the Land Use, Environmental and Energy department, Alex also advises clients on a wide range of matters, including federal and state regulatory compliance, the development and implementation of environmental management systems, and dispute resolution. He also counsels developers in obtaining incentives for building affordable housing as part of brownfields redevelopment.
Prior to joining Cox Castle, Alex served as a Law Clerk in the Neighborhood Prosecutor’s Office for the Los Angeles City Attorney and as a Legal Extern for the Honorable Andre Birotte Jr. in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
Alex received his J.D. from Pepperdine University in May 2017. During law school, Alex served as President of the Student Bar Association. He was the recipient of the Pepperdine University School of Law Parris Award for Excellence in Leadership. As an alumnus of Pepperdine Law, he currently co-chairs the Dean’s Council to the Law School’s Board of Advisors. He received his B.S. in Public Policy and Management with an emphasis in Real Estate Development from USC’s Price School of Public Policy in May 2013.
